Nuffield St Cafe Bar and Bistro

Worst dining experience ever! We went there with a GrabOne voucher for a Two-Course Dinner for Two incl. Two Glasses of House Wine or Beer. Even though it wasn't busy we had to wait before we were greeted and then seated by a waitress who seemed like she didn't want to be there. We were then given the full dinner menus and only after deciding what we were going to have and after another long wait, the disinterested waitress come back to us to explain that there were only a few options available to us from the menu with the voucher - something we should've been told when we were given the menus, or better yet we should've been given menus with the voucher options only. We had to ask for the drinks we ordered twice and wait for ages before we got them - which was surprising given that the restaurant was half empty the whole time we were there, and there were two waiting stuff and a guy behind the bar as well?!
We decided to have an entrée and main and a main and dessert (to share the entrée and dessert between us). We had the salt and pepper squid as our entrée which was more than big enough for the both of us and the best out of all the meals we got. Same can't be said about the Pork belly and Frangelico Chicken which were both quite disappointing - meat was over cooked in both meals and the "veggies" with the chicken were under-cooked and unseasoned and the sauce was heavy but bland.
Most shocking part of our "dining experience" at Nuffield Street Cafe, Bar & Bistro was when we had our used napkins folded again and our dirty cutlery that we had just used for the entrée placed on them for our mains by the other waiter - we didn't even deserve another set of clean cutlery!!! Unbelievable!
But what was the final straw was the so-called "Crème brulée" we were served!!! What we got is NOT Crème brulée.... Whatever that was absolutely disgusting and after just having a taste of it, we decided that enough was enough, and got up and left.
We would never go back to this place again and my advise to everyone is - please don't waste your money there!

The best eggs Benedict in Auckland. A great place for brunch any day!

I dropped in for lunch as the cafe looks very light and breezy with stylish interior. Staff was very friendly and attentive and I was served my beverages very promptly.

I thoroughly enjoyed my glass of Hoppers Crossing Pinot Noir however for lunch I ordered the zucchini corn fritters and they were underwhelming both in appearance, texture, technique and flavour.

Ambiance made the experience a pleasant one.

we visited for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by the great food served nics and hot with generous portions. One of the best "BIG" breakfasts i have had lately
