Little Bird Organics & The Unbakery

Went in to try the Vegan breakfast and it was very good indeed, yummy crispy tofu and a pumpkin spicy number, mushrooms spinach hummus these potato maybe Kumara hash type things with white dairy tasting sauce not sure what it was but was good! Will be back for sure. OH sorry forgot the omni meal he said it was also GREAT. Loved my almond decaf latte too. THANKS you beautiful people

follow up review after visiting yesterday (sunday 22 feb 2015). Took my mum, wife and wee daughter, we were in a hurry and I was concerned about how relatively short the new north road location can be on space and seating. copped a perfect spot at the main table. food and smoothies came out real quick which was great and we were in and out in under 30 minutes which was a shame as any food let alone good food should not be hurried.

We shared two smoothies - the berry antioxidiser and a chocolate flavoured one - sorry not sure what was in it. We had a wrap and a 'pad thai'. "OMG" so amazing the food here is seriously unreal. I truly think this is the best food of any cafe I have tried in Auckland, so clean yet so so so tasty. Unbelievable.

At one point one of the staff asked us we were enjoying the food, I said that i was hoping there were no cameras filming us for some joke youtube channel, as we must have looked like pigs, horsing our food, unable to stop - literally I could not stop eating way past being fulfilled.

Good rate cafe. We had the Chia Bircher and kumara pancakes. Found the food to be beautifully presented, balanced and fresh. Very grateful that the Bircher was not sweet. High recommend.

Any food these guys make is absolute gold. Try everything, you'll thank yourself.

First visit to the Unbakery after hearing that it is good but not knowing why or what it is about. Pleased to say that only now as I reflect back on our visit, and read some online reports, do I find out that the Cafe is based around raw food and gluten-free. This is refreshing as we all try and label everything these days, Unbakery is just what it is (which is great food).

Our visit to the New North Road outlet was close to lunch time on Saturday and so we were lucky to get a seat. Service was fast and friendly, the cold pour-over coffee with almond milk was amazing - as a coffee bore it was a treat to try something different (almond milk not normally associated with pour-over method). Both salads we ordered were gorgeous and the torte for pudding was again terrific. Nothing negative only big positives for this place, I guess it can be quite cramped at this location but that is no biggie.
