Goodwins property management tried a bait and switch tactic on me, attempting to trick me into believing that hiring a professional carpet cleaner was standard for exiting a tenancy. Their recommended company did a bait and switch attempting to upsell services once on site and threatening to withhold my bond if I did not pay for the extra service on the spot. I have since found out via the commerce commission that this scenario is common and illegal. No third party can withhold a bond from anyone and no tenant is obligated to pay a professional carpet cleaner in order to exit a tenancy. Absolute low down crooks
