Good coffee. They know their business. Was busy for early morning but a real good vibe. Would return for a coffee fix.

This cafe has been on my to-go list for so long! I came here with a friend and was welcomed by the super friendly barista! We ordered the Cold Black coffee and the Cold Milky coffee, which came in a bottle. I don't often drink black coffee, but I'm glad to say I could handle it! I preferred the cold milky coffee though! We also got a flat white and a latte as well! Really beautiful latte art! Eighthirty roastery beans are good for those who aren't into super strong coffee! This cafe is really spacious and quiet, feels cozy and is aesthetically pleasing!

Fourth best coffee in Auckland?
Continuing my rather sad tour of the Auckland coffee 'scene', and in search of the best (espresso) coffee. I'd noticed eighthirty many times but it was not until I was recommended to go here by Corey the barista (former now sadly) at The Waterview Coffee Project - Eighthirty is one of his favourite roasts apparently. So I appeared at their door, locked my bike up at the thoughtfully placed bike lockup spot and entered to a pleasant sight of some serious roasting equipment.

I ordered what I always order when trying a new coffee shop - an espresso and a picolo (to be able to 'judge' espresso and a milk-based coffee). The espresso was excellent, strong, thick, full-mouth feel yet pretty sweet, orangey notes. Very impressed given it was extracted from a blend which is also used for milk coffees too. Picolo again was possibly one of the best picolos i've ever had, strength really came through and for once didnt taste like a hot milkshake.

I shall be going back for sure and recommending to anyone. Big seal of approval.

These guys (during the week only sadly) also will prepare coffee using the latest and greatest array of available equipment - chemex, syphon and what was hugely exciting to me (though disappointed I couldnt try) the Moccamaster!
