Edinburgh Castle Limited

The walk up hill, the wonderful views of the city, the cannons and it's huge. It has all requirements of a good castle, but on the outside.

e came here for brunch on a Sunday morning having not been for a couple of years. We were given a friendly greeting upon arrival and the fact that we had a voucher made no difference to their attitude towards us, as we have experienced elsewhere. The coffees were great and really hot (they warm the cups I was told). The big breakfasts we ordered, including one vegetarian version were generous portions and tasty - they included home made hash browns. The mushrooms served on my plate had a creamy sauce which I am unable to eat. When I mentioned this they offered to replace the mushrooms without sauce. They did this quickly and they were delicious. The service was impeccable and we will definitely return.

The mains consisted of one veggie (the obligatory risotto), one chicken, one steak and 4-5 fish options. I suppose it isn't totally surprising here. I had the steak which, truth be told, was a lovely piece of meat - but it was just a nice bit of steak. I guess I was hoping for a slightly more adventurous menu....

Great atmosphere and staff who love their jobs, cool place to hang with friends and relax. Great options on the menu too.

Friend held his 30th party here with bbq available on site. Parking on side streets near by. Pool tables can be played. Venue can fit a decent amount of people.
