The entire menu can be gluten free which we hadn’t realised before arriving and was extremely welcome. We enjoyed the oysters, whitebait omelette and scallop/crayfish special. Equally the mains of hapuka, wagyu beef and crayfish were all very much enjoyed.

Had dinner with friends on our first night in Auckland. Service was attentive without being fussy, food was interesting and tasty and overall the restaurant had a pleasant buzz.

This place was a notch - several notches - better than any restaurants I have dined in for years. Flash and stylish without being pretentious, friendly and interesting staff without be ingratiating and smarmy, a menu with plenty of novelty and yet it was still accessible: it didn't require fluency in French, Italian and Mandarin (though I did have to google a few items!) to understand, and only a few of the words seemed to be made up! And the food was excellent! Nothing on the plate was just to fill a space. It was all fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. You could dine at cheaper restaurants, but you could also spend a lot more money at other restaurants and not have nearly as good a time.

With the exception of two, all the mains had an entree size which worked for me as full ribs is more than I can handle and left room for desert.
Service was great and the waiter was not fazed when the children's menu offered Spaghetti Bolognaise small or large and was asked for medium from our child.
Bluff Oysters were delicious!. Parking available outside.
