We had drinks at the Box cafe while waiting for the event at the nearby Aotea square to begin. Very nice light setup with wide sofa type seating, regular tables, and barstools as well . Good selection of beers and drinks. Box would be a perfect meeting point.

Lovely place to eat, with outdoor seating. Their sweets are delicious as well.

Good place for meetings and good food

Once the conference was over, we all descended on the Box Bar. The staff were friendly and did their best with the long queues of hundreds arriving at the same time. A good range of drinks, but would love to see a wider range of bar snacks... pretty much limited to Pringles and peanuts/choc raisins and then a fridge of cafe items. Hot chips would go down a treat!! :) Would have stayed longer and spent more, had there been some hot food to share.

Great for a pre-show drink! The La Gioiosa prosecco is probably the best value for money (despite the fact that I found they sell the Deutz at the bars inside the theatre for a dollar cheap, grr). The staff definitely know their alcohol and willingly prepare cocktails if you ask. Don't catch them at lunch time though, it gets really busy and it shows in the service. It's definitely a cafe/bar aimed at a theatre crowd, not a proper cafe.
