Azabu

Azabu is such an amazing restaraunt. It is quite dark inside and lightly lit which isn't everyones thing but I really like it. The service is so lovely and the workers always help you out with ordering and tell you whats good. I've been here a couple times and leave so full and satisfied.

Azabu is a Japanese, fusion style restaurant. I went with girlfriends for a night out. The food was delicious and we had a good range. Sharing plates were of a good size. The staff were friendly and helpful regarding our drinks orders of which there were a few! Only downside was we were asked to move from our table at about 9.30ish as they said they had another booking. Not a problem we said and moved outside as it was a warm night. However, no one took our table and we could have stayed put rather than having to move. It was super warm outside especially as they had their big heaters going.

One of my favourite places in Auckland. Nice cool ambience, great service and awesome foods and cocktails.
Was really impressed about the fusion between Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, which I didn't even know existed but proved to be great.
For me it's an extra that they are one of the few places in Auckland where you can have octopus. But they didn't even need to serve that to make me come back. Each and every dish was great!
Impressive how such a new place can start as one of stars of Ponsonby!

While service was a little slow in the beginning, it was quickly forgotten after our food arrived. Loved every mouthful. We will be back.

smooth operation and well thought out lay out. Fun exciting menu easily enough shared or for one. the signature negroni was exceptional, sashimi, volcano roll, crab bao, beef short rib, goyza. sides all top notch.
