I have been in here several times to purchase film and have it develop and I have always found staff to be generally unhelpful but the location convenient. Never again after today. I went in at a very quiet time was spoken to by two staff members about having a film developed. The first member was friendly, he took the camera from me and then handed it back and asked me to open it assuming he had wound the film back I did - he hadn't. A second more experienced and incredibly obnoxious staff member then walks past exclaiming at volume "It's ruined, It's ruined". No offer of a solution - no attempt was made to try wind the film back or even suggest developing the photos. The first staff member stood there bewildered whilst the obnoxious one exclaimed a further 5 or 6 times that the film was in fact ruined. Incredibly unhelpful and rude staff. I subsequently had the film developed for a better price at a store on Victoria street which whilst slightly further had a much better service and cheaper prices for both developing the film and buying new ones. The two of the photos were ruined and a further two had edge fogging the rest were fine.

Really good sales through their standard prices are on the slightly higher-end, bought both my cameras from them. Really good and reliable service and were willing to match the cheaper prices of their competitors. Will continue to shop there.

The Great North Road shop has a wide range of gear for amateur and professional photographers and movie/video-makers, but the thing I like is that they provide prompt in-house processing of colour film and transparencies. For those who use film (and it's supposedly making a bit of a come-back), colour developing and printing has become hard to find. They also have chemicals for DIY black and white processing.

Awesome staff who know their stuff. Some items are a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for.

Serious store this one, every kind of equipment and accessory you could need. Store itself is nicely laid out, spacious and light-filled. Staff are super-knowledgeable and helpful as well, making this a great shopping experience.
