The Presentation was wonderful. The service good.We ordered miso glazed eggplant, teriyaki chicken, truffle beef rolled sushi, miso glazed tooth fish, Edamame and seared duck breast. The food was delicious, portions alright. Most of the dishes had a sweet touch which was a bit unexpected in some dishes. But it was still great.
Had the tasting menu it's 65 dollars but worth it. Went to the restaurant on a Sunday it was not really busy . Al the dishes did come out in time. The miso soup was a bit saulty for me. The staff were supper friendly and did advise us about all the dishes and recommendation
Most delicious Japanese in Auckland. Keep going back for more. Industrial interior, with beautiful soft lighting and fantastic staff.
The musts are: king fish sashimi, soft shell crab, beef tataki, sticky pork belly and tempura! 10/10
Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for Japanese food. We were a group of 10 people who shared a set menu, the service was exceptional with no wait time between dishes, the food was excellent - definitely would return. The Green Tea Icecream was a perfect end to the meal.
Fantastic quality, beautifully presented modern Japanese food. Came here early evening on a Saturday and due to them being quiet, it was lacking a little in atmosphere. The food and service did make up for this though and whilst it was a little more on the expensive side, it was good value for money and in line with what you would expect to pay for this type of restaurant.
I love Japanese food, but having tried so much of it, I'm very picky about the quality and taste. Ebisu makes absolutely fantastic Japanese food. The atmosphere could have been a little more comfortable, but it's a classy joint nonetheless.
I considered renting a flat downtown just so I could be closer to this restaurant. But then I reconsidered as I'd probably go into debt quite quickly. Not from renting a downtown flat, but from spending all of my pennys at Ebisu. Well done on every front team. Keep up the incredibly high standard of food, service and overall eating experience.
I came across this restaurant after a Breakers game as it was the only eatery open nearby at the time. They have a great menu with a range of exotic Japanese dishes to select from. The setup is very nice which makes you feel like you've gone to San Francisco for the evening. The dining experience is highly commendable.
