The Butter Factory

Funky hidden gem in the rei. Plenty of outdoor seating; poetry evenings and live bands. Overpriced for the area though. I recommend the burgers! The staff are always friendly and energetic, has a rustic charm about it.
Park in the farmers car park and walk through back. It's tricky finding parking on Bank Street (the other entrance).

Went to the Butter Factory Restaurant for the first time this week. It is hidden down a small road, behind other shops. It is in a picturesque setting though, with a brick courtyard and the restaurant being in an old stone building, which was once a butter factory. Sat outside, although the weather was a little overcast. There was a large group of us but the table was enormous and seated our group comfortably. As the weather closed in, the staff brought out blankets for our legs and arranged a fire heater to be stood by our table. Because of this our group was still able to enjoy our meal without going inside. In the evening the restaurant is turned into a night club with different entertainment each time. Everything from open mike to burlesque, by all accounts. I have yet to go in the evening, but thought I'd mention that this cafe is more than just a place to get a light meal and coffee.

Awesome place and great food, as well as really lovely staff. A good place to go for lunch or dinner. They do excellent pizzas.

Really cool atmosphere in an old building down a little narrow alley type road by farmers. Lovely bar and nice selection of drinks.
