      I recently celebrated my birthday with a Meerkat Encounter at the Wellington Zoo. Best experience of my life. It's been on my bucket list since I knew an encounter was possible and I wasn't disappointment. Loved having them crawl all over my lap and sit on my knees. Pure bliss!

      Fantastic zoo. Be prepared for walking as there are lots of hills. The 'meet the locals' area is great.

      Fantastic zoo, with great variety of animals, and plenty of information displayed on each animal. Access is easy, and displays allow good sight of animals. There are lots of exploration areas, both physical and visual, which is especially exciting for the kids and gets them involved. The map they provide you with is very engaging and easy to understand which helps the trip run smoothly. Plenty of rest stops/loos/play equipment alonf the way too. Two Cafes on site and great gift shop. The zoo has a hilly terrain, so if you have small children, a pram is a good idea if they tire easily.

      Love going to the Wellington Zoo, went recently to do a Close Encounter and was blown away at being able to interact with animals I normally only get to look at on TV or through an enclosure. Will certainly be heading back to do more encounters!
