The Old Mountaineers Cafe Bar & Restaurant

Was slightly skeptical of the food that it would be overpriced. However, the quality of the food really surprised us! Had my first ever vegan pizza and it was really good! They also served hands down the best hot chocolate we had in New Zealand!

Meals are varied. You can choose meals such as burgers or I had very tasty, well cooked salmon. It was clean and with friendly staff.

We had an evening meal here recently. Sadly the mains we chose from the menu were not available. The alternative mains were good but not mind-blowing. The restaurant itself has a wonderful ambience and the views are stunning. Pricey!

The mountaineers burger along with other stuff and staff makes it a nice place to hang out with. Best part is the Mt Cook peak in itself.
