      General Info

      Come and take a historic trip between Lambton Quay and Kelburn, enjoy the views. The cable car operates everyday except Christmas Day and runs every ten minutes from 7am to 10pm Monday to Friday. 8.30am to 10pm Saturday and 8:30am to 9pm Sundays and Public Holidays. The one way trip takes approximately five minutes.

      We took the cable car up and wasn't really expecting much as most trams and funiculars in Europe are pretty straightforward, simply put, rather plain. But being Wellington and having that artsy flair, the tram also exhibited some of that artistic side with the murals and the lights through the tunnels. Though it's smaller than most, it is kept in pretty tip top shape, and the ride was smooth and students get a discounted ticket, and multiple ride passes can also be availed.

      Fun activity for an outing in Wellington, especially on a nice day. Beautiful views at the top and always nice to walk through the lovely botanic gardens.

      Great trip! Don’t forget your Seniors Gold Card for a free ride either!! Amazing views across Wellington and the light shows in the tunnels are awesome. Well worth the time

      Ride the cable car is an experience. The driver and the staffs were very friendly and It is very enjoyable. It runs every 10 minutes and it is a lot of fun for kids.
