Volstead Craft Beer & Cocktail Lounge

Atmosphere is good, excellent range of craft beer with tap beers being rotated periodically so there's always something new to try even if you've been many times before.

Pretty disappointing craft beer experience. The decor of the bar itself is pretty lacklustre. The beer brewed by Volstead is definitely at the bottom end of the craft beer available in CHCH and the staff aren’t especially friendly. I won’t be coming back here. There is much better on offer in CHCH!

5 stars as this place is fantastic and I love coming here. First off: staff are amazing, friendly, and have a great knowledge of all the drinks on tap and menu. Service is great. I love the outdoor seating area with the gas fire, it's cosy and comfortable and in winter a lovely place to be with a group of friends. Inside is cosy as well, nice seating, great atmosphere. Food is good, I like the fries a lot. Plenty of choices when it comes to craft beer and cider, I have had some delicious drinks here that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. Great place to go if you're looking to try something new but in a relaxed environment. One of my favourite places to wind down after a long day. Conveniently just off Riccarton road so easy to get to and find transport if you need it.
