Puhoi Valley Cafe & Cheese Store

Great place during summer to hang out. Came here on a sunny Saturday morning for brunch and their cheese fondue is amazing. There is a stream which is nice to have. Great cheese selection, ice cream and other dairy products available.

we just stopped to look at the cheese, brought some but I found it expensive compared to the cheese from our own area in Geraldine it was twice the price. the setting for this factory and shop is lovely it was a nice fine day and we sat outside and enjoyed an amazing tasting ice cream from the cafe. We were able to sample the ice cream before we choose and that was great, the waitress was really friendly and helpful I had the coffee flavoured one best ice cream I have had really rich and creamy really worth the trip out there. I do love the pohui products especially the yogurt I thought the prices at the factory shop may have been slightly less than the supermarkets but that didn't seem to be the cast.

Great place, watch the cheesemaking in action through glass window, pick local cheeses to taste (and buy) also try out ice-creams before buying, lovely healthy food. Watch the ducks swimming in the lake and bask in the sunshine, Great for families and all!

We visited over the weekend and it was lovely. The cheese was sensational as always and we were able to stock up a bit for home too. Thank you for an enjoyable visit.

This place is a hidden gem, worth the drive through Puhoi Village. In addition to a comfortable seating area, they offer tasting events, and make a wide range of soft cheeses. Our favorites were the several varieties of brie and their goat's milk blue cheese.
