Puhoi Valley Cafe & Cheese Store

Great place, watch the cheesemaking in action through glass window, pick local cheeses to taste (and buy) also try out ice-creams before buying, lovely healthy food. Watch the ducks swimming in the lake and bask in the sunshine, Great for families and all!

About one hour drive from Auckland and here is a little place called Puhoi cafe. This place is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seats. Great for enjoying the view. We had brie, triple Brie and a cheddar all were good. Would recommend.

Nice and chilled atmosphere esp the outdoor seating overlooking/ nearby a river. Very nice in deed. Not many food option available though.

What a lovely and busy place during the weekend. A long queue when ordering my lunch (very happy for their good business!). Very lovely staff. A special demo of the cheese production. I love the outdoor area and the picnic feel. Kids got playground to burn their energy. A very special place to enjoy the great food, ice-cream, cheese platter and the environment! Thank you!

Puhoi Valley definitely do some of the best cheeses in New Zealand and the cafe / cheese store is amazing - they have great options for lunch, including ice-cream to die for! You can site inside or out and have a stroll around the garden once you're done. Worth the short drive and road toll.
