Kohan Restaurant

We went here just prior to the first NZ Covid lockdown so actually the restaurant was pretty empty - but I would imagine from the size and facilities that it would get crazy busy during peak travel season in normal circumstances.

The food was pretty good without being great and the price was a touch high - but this place is a tourist destination right next to Lake Tekapo so you're probably paying a bit extra for that great view

Incredible sushi (must try the salmon and avocado sushi or Tekapo roll - really fresh, delicious and authentic!!) Really friendly staff. Pricey but well worth it, it's one of the best Japanese restaurants in NZ.

I come to tekapo a couple of times a year. During winter it’s closed which is disappointing but we always go at least once while there for our summer holiday. Need to book in advance as books up fast! The food is amazing from their sushi to there main meals. I’m sure I have tried them all now and never been disappointed! A must do when visiting lake tekapo

Best Japanese restaurant, all the food are so fresh and well prepared. Highly recommended!
