      The Civic Theatre complex is ideally located in the heart of the inner city of Invercargill, surrounded by cafes, retail shops and across the road from Pak'n'Save. The 100 year old imposing structure is one of Invercargill's landmark buildings and continues to serve as the cultural heart of the Southland community. The Civic Theatre complex provides a quality theatre and associated facilities for hire and is extensively used by local and regional organisations as well as national and international touring companies. The Civic Theatre complex has a Category 1 classification by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust which means that the building is of national significance.

      Very progressive library with librarians who work hard to provide activities to interest as many people as possible. The kids love the play area. I'm not a fan of the way the adult books are catalogued - by genre - as the same author can often be found in different sections. A trap to watch out for but fairly navigable once you are used to the system.

      Wonderful place to come with young children. The kids area is set up fantastically with all the toys and the play house. Great selection of old and new books. The Librarian's are lovely and very helpful.

      I enjoy coming to this library, the staff are amazing and so helpful. I like the children's area and how it's set out so the kids can play and the parents can sit and observe. Great up to date selection on books and dvds.

      wonderful inviting place, awesome kids section with plenty of books for them to read and learn to read from. lots of DVDs to choose from at a very reasonable hire rate. Librarians are friendly and knowledgeable. and as a added bonus has a HUGE pay carpark that is attached to it so you dont have to fight for a park and dont get wet in the variable weather, that doesnt cost much more than the metered parks everywhere else
