Penguin Cafe

A family run cafe on the Otago Peninsula with great home baked food. Home made pies and soups. The cakes are really delicious especially the Hummingbird.

It may look a bit basic from the outside but the service, food and coffee are a treat to behold. We both had French toast accompanied by bacon, maple syrup and poached fruit. The latter just made the combo. Coffee was strong and well made.

Staff were super-friendly and helpful, never once made us feel unwelcome because we'd bought little kids. Food was lovely!
