We’ve made several purchases from here all via trademe, easy to deal with fast easy pickup. Reasonable prices and good quality. The range of stuff they have is pretty big tools-appliances-hardware-cabinetry.

Previously left a fairly positive review despite the fact that I had previously had issues with their warranty when my teenage son bought a scooter that kept pumping out petrol. This morning I called them to see if they had a table saw in stock. They had one. Husband went to collect it and is was the one on display. He had to take it apart and when it got home it wouldn't go back together again. The manual had nothing expect a picture. No instructions. Called them up to be told by the rude and unhelpful guy on the phone (who remembered me from the dangerous scooter issue) that 'it should go back to together as it came apart'. You reckon? Wow, I wish I had that information years ago. It would save me a fortune. That lovely Minton vase I broke? No problem, it will simply go together as it came apart! My advice? Go to Bunnings etc. Don't be enticed by the prices. If something goes wrong your on your own. Meanwhile we have a table saw that we might use as a puzzle for guests on Christmas day.

Worst communication and customer support experienced in NZ. Purchased an air compressor, first one blew up within 2 months, upgraded to their largest unit, within a month it was back in the shop with electrical issues which they tried to blame on my power supply, had power supply tested by main power all fine, 3 months later it stopped again so took it back. The pressure switch had burnt out which they blamed on "the compressor cycling too much" , the unit runs for 4 mins then is off for 20mins, pretty reasonable for any quality commercial compressor. Was offered to either pay for the repair or have the compressor back not going at 4 months old, end of conversation.

At the end of the day the product quality is very low, company is almost impossible to get hold of, voice messages are not cleared, severely understaffed and do not back their products, if they do they make you pay for their failed products to be repaired.

Topmaq Replies:
"Sorry we do recognise our communication has been bad since COVID-19 we are employing more staff to keep up with the demand to increase our customer service"
This answer is absolutely false, the communication was appalling well before COVID19, also severely understaffed before COVID19, please don't try to use COVID19 as your excuse. I had to call 5x-10x a day, leving 3+ messages a day (none of which ever resulted in a call back) to get hold of Topmaq both before and after COVID19.

I found the best way to get things sorted: Call the sales line (funny they seem to answer every time) and talk with them, ask for the persons name you are dealing with and get that person to get the needed manager/repair person to call you. Better yet, save yourself the time/stress and don't buy their products.

Useless they sold me a faulty product so I asked them to fix it they said someone would pick it up and no one ever came. So I took it in myself and they said they would look into it and send it back. I recieved it back and they said it had no fault so I tried it and it was still not working. I'm not sure they even turned it on
Then I requested they fix it so they asked for videos of it not working so I sent them from my phone. A week later I rang them as I had herd nothing and they said "oh yes we couldn't play the video". I asked if they needed the videos in a different format and they said "no it was probably just there computer and they would play them on something else". 2 months later I pulled the tool apart myself found the broken part and modified it to get it working.

Atrocious customer service but prices aren't to bad

Pretty hard to beat for tools. Just bought a paint sprayer and drill for the price of a drill elsewhere. They have a saw table that beats my Makita hands down for sturdiness. No frills, great parking. Would recommend.
