Orana Wildlife Park

Went here last weekend. Big walk for little legs so take a pram or use the shuttle service. Kids loved the animals. Definitely worth taking your own lunch setting up at one of the picnic tables and spending the day there. We tried to do it between nap times and found we didn't have enough time as the park is huge. Gorillas, meerkats were a hit. But the biggest fav of the day was the cheeky keas. Kids loved that they would come sit on your head.

Have recently visited Auckland, Hamilton and now Orana zoos and think this is the best of the lot. My toddlers loved seeing the apes and big cats and even though the park is spread across a large area there are no big hills to climb which is good when pushing a double buggy. Thought we would spend 2 hours but spent 4 hours. Food was amazing, lots of choices for vegetarians and not too overpriced.

My family had a wonderful time here, was a highlight for the kids.

I LOVED it here, as did the kids! went here mid morning and all animals were up and lively! Loved seeing the Rhino and the Gorilla was spectacular, he was very active and thumping his chest! Amazing creature! I felt the animals had a lot more room and weren't caged as such so it felt a lot nicer! Lots of free parking, a cafe onsite, which does really good coffee!

Awesome experience at Orana Park! We went for the day and was impressed by all the wide open spaces for the animals! There's also regular shuttles which cut out alot of the walking. Prices are reasonable and the staff at the park are super friendly! We stopped in at the cafe as well and the food was good.
