Have recently visited Auckland, Hamilton and now Orana zoos and think this is the best of the lot. My toddlers loved seeing the apes and big cats and even though the park is spread across a large area there are no big hills to climb which is good when pushing a double buggy. Thought we would spend 2 hours but spent 4 hours. Food was amazing, lots of choices for vegetarians and not too overpriced.

A wonderful open air zoo. Not your traditional zoo at all, the animals have lots of wide, open spaces. It's a big park so make sure you wear comfy shoes and take the shuttle/buggy if you have little legs. Cafe onsite but you can take your own food. Definitely go and follow the schedule so you can hand-feed giraffes, farm animals etc. The new primate enclosure is wonderful. A great family day out.

Awesome experience at Orana Park! We went for the day and was impressed by all the wide open spaces for the animals! There's also regular shuttles which cut out alot of the walking. Prices are reasonable and the staff at the park are super friendly! We stopped in at the cafe as well and the food was good.

Such a huge zoo lots of animals to look at but one day is not enough to see all of them but feeding the giraffe and lion encounter is one of my favorite its such a fun day a nice place for whole family educational and very informwtive

Recently visited this venue while travelling around the area, and it was definitely one of the best wildlife parks I have come across. Getting hands-on time with kea, riding the lion experience, and getting a close-up look at one of the only gorillas in NZ was quite the day out! The price of entry is quite reasonable, and considering the size of the venue and the range it contains, this is not going to be one of those places you only visit once. If I had time, I would gladly have gone back the next day, and the next, just so I could see everything at least once.
