Christchurch City Libraries are a network of public libraries in the Christchurch City area, supported by 11 network service teams for ratepayers and residents of the city and surrounding areas. Facilities include a mobile library and a digital library, internet access and email are available through the free wifi. Each library has a wide range of resources including books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, eBooks, magazines, newspapers, maps as well as a wide range of online resources for study, research, personal information and entertainment.

Staff are very friendly at all the library's and actually love their jobs. I enjoy taking the kids to the south library especially Tuesdays when they have fun activities on.

We are so lucky to have the library facilities we do in Christchurch, most have lots of scheduled activities after school and great holiday programs. Books are always up to date. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

The library itself is fantastic but unfortunately It’s very hard to find a carpark close to the library.

The main public library in the CBD ChCh is fantastic! Opens late, as does their wonderful cafe at the bottom and all other floors contain such amazing reference material. Plus this has great views. Hands down my fav library of all time!
