Sushi & Don

This is a great place to enjoy a meal. Nice staff, good environment.We order the teriyaki chicken don and teriyaki udon. The dishes came with complimentary green tea.Foods are tasty and of generous sizes.Highly recommended and will be back try more.

The karage chicken delicious and gy?zas came out hot and freshly made with the right amount of juice inside. Seafood okonomiyaki was sort of average though, there was definitely squid and mussels in there but also too much tasteless flour.

The restaurant itself had a cool yet atmospheric vibe. I particularly liked the lighting, and how they have achieved the warm dark glow throughout the restaurant, yet have spot lit the tables to show off the vibrant colours of the food.

We were quickly seated on arrival for our reservation, coats checked into the cloakroom for us and drinks offered. We opted for one of the special cocktails to start, a Goji Bellini. Whilst pleasant enough, expecting some sourness from the goji berry, it was over sweet for our taste.

To accompany the meal we chose a bottle of Lone Birch Pinot Gris which matched perfectly with the dishes from the menu that we chose. A delicious drop that we had not tried before, the waiter was happy to point us in the direction of where we could buy this wine outside of the restaurant.

Being fans of a wide a varied selection of food, we went for the 'Extravaganza Menu' along with the Wagyu Beef Tartare. A sumptuous & large selection of Sticks & Sushi, all of which were quite delicious. The beef tartare, black cod nigiri & sashimi were absolutely beautiful.

The don buri is awesome. Simply the best Japanese in Auckland.

Loved eating here the other week, we enjoyed the Salmon and chicken Sushi. We decided to eat in and the layout of the plate and food was beautiful and simple to eat from with a split area for the shredded vegetables.
