NZ Maritime Museum

A fascinating, modern museum. A terrific way to spend a few hours. It's even better, on a fine day. I guess, because you enter the museum after seeing all the boats on the Waitemata Harbour. You can take a guided tour if you want or wander around by yourself. Kids would love it as well. They run holiday programmes for kids and there's the opportunity to go sailing on different vessels on different days. The museum is free to Auckland residents, but the entry for others is reasonable. All sailings are extra. Highly recommended.

This is a great museum. Family friendly, with lots to interest all ages. Often holiday programmes and activities for kids too.

Awesome museum. They also host lots of activities, and would even have live demonstrations of firing a canon! There are lots of cafes and restaurants close by for a nice meal before or after a visit to the museum.

My son had his 6th birthday party here and it was great. Staff was really accommodating and the pirate host was really funny. I wish i could host my kids' party here every year. :)

Great afternoon with the kids, so many interesting exhibits. The midday cannon is a must.
