Auckland Zoo

Auckland zoo is a great place to come for a day out, so cool getting to see all the different animals in their enclosures, got some pretty cool pictures too.

This was our third visit to the Auckland Zoo and every time we have been so impressed. It is in a beautiful setting, lots of places to sit and have a picnic and relax and so much to see. The zoo has many great animals, particularly those that are native to New Zealand (e.g. the kiwi). We also loved the fact that the zoo is very well designed, so that it is easy to get around to see the different sections of the zoo without having to walk miles. It is great for young children. The cafe had delicious food and reasonable prices.

There is a great range of animals. Loved most of it but a few of the exibhits felt a bit small for the animals. Is it normal for animals to do a circuit over and over in the wild? My son pointed it out with a red panda and a sea lion. Not sure if they were bored or maybe the do that in the wild too? The cheetahs exibhit seemed too small, hardly enough room to stretch out and run like I have seen them do in a Christchurch wildlife park. Kids still really enjoyed themselves though.

Such an awedomr place to take kids with a picnic and spend the day there! Would plan trip around animal feeding time so they come out and you get a good view. Kids love it

Huge zoo, loads of walking and plenty of animal enclosures to view. Lovely eating areas and loved the gift shops for gifts. Staff were so helpful
