Great place to get away for the weekend

We paid quite abit of money for this hotel. Our room was average looking and there wasn’t anything special about it. The hotel is located near a lake and the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. We really enjoyed the spa facilities it completed our stay. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff were very polite. When we checked out we got help with our bags by the man at the door which was great.

stayed here a short time ago and was not a fan at all. overpriced, understaffed and the few I could find were not very friendly. one barely spoke english, which is not a good thing in tourism. if your staff dont even speak the language of the country you are in, how can you expect guests to get service? sure it was a fancy place, but the final bill was a lot higher than it should have been and I had to really stand my ground to get it sorted out. another pitfall of having frontline staff with bad english. in the end I had to call a friend whop spoke their language, and is also a lawyer, to sort the matter out. despite accepting they had stuffed up the bill, there was no discount or apology. I would never stay here again and have talked a few friends out of making bookings here too. just not worth it - find somewhere else. there's a great holiday park just down the road we ended up relocating to when our roadtrip got extended, rather than risk extending our stay at this place.
