We visited Parakai on the weekend. We come here frequently, and it was a nice change to visit in the cooler months, as it wasnt as busy as it usually is. The lifeguards take their jobs seriously which I find assuring. They're not afraid to growl children when they are misbehaving around the water, and remind them about water safety. The pools are heated which is fantastic, and theres a large indoor childrens pool, convenient for those that have little ones who dont like big splashing. Reasonable price, and lods of shaded and covered areas to sit.
Spent the day here yesterday and it was lovely. Even with the cold weather and the wild wind, having a dip in the pool was nice because its heated, and it was relaxing. We didnt have the pressure of hundreds of kids as it was during school hours, but I can imagine how busy it can get here as the place is lovely. Theres a little cafe on site so you can order coffees and food, and they also have sheltered areas for everyone.
This pool is fantastic for a family gathering or just meeting up with friends. The hire out BbQ's and there is a large self catering dining area. The service is friendly and they have life guards who keep a good eye out. They have lockers that can also be hired to store valuables in.
Visited parakai on the weekend just gone and what a lovely day to go, the sun was shining and it was excellent weather for it! It was very busy and as the weather was fine, I knew it would be so travelled there early to arrive when it opened to ensure I got a carpark. Lots of sheltered areas and grass space to set up camp, and a few bbq's to hire available. The lifeguards are great at what they do, and actually get children out of the pool if they dont see an adult with them, I think this is great.
Such an amazing place for families to go for the day! Everything is always so nice and clean and the renovations that have been done since I was last there make the place so much nicer. Will be spending more summer days here
My kids loved the hydroslide and so did we, its great how the younger ones can go down with a parent. The outdoor pool is a lovely temperature and is shallow enough for the kids to be able to enjoy it. Its really nice to bring a picnic but there are not to many sheltered places to sit
We stayed at the camp ground last weekend and the kids loved it. Simple facilities but it has everything you need.
Bonus is that if you stay at the campground you get half price entry into the pools. The pool are so relaxing and the slides are such fun!
Bought some vouchers online and went the weekend just gone. Even though the weather wasnt the greatest (it was spitting, and some heavy showers throughout the day), as the outdoor pool is slightly heated, this wasnt an issue. Parakai is one of those pools where it doesnt matter if it rains, you're not gonna freeze the rest of the day as the pools are heated. Nice little cafe inside too, but takes a long time to get your food out.
Wonderful warm water to soak the ole bones in.....so good for the sole. Yes, the prices are steep but if you're a Rodney resident & have something to prove you live in the area you can join their scheme & get discounted entry. Nice & clean - love going there as it's so relaxing
