Minato Sushi

My favourite sushi place. Brian and his wife are lovely.

I travel from Waihi to go to Minato Sushi , I highly recommend their Sushi - it is the best sushi, fresh, so many types of sushi to choose from and the staff are very hospitable, they will make up fresh sushi on the spot if they havent got it out in the display shelves. I love that I can choose my own sushi, and they are huge

Right here in Main street Whangamata the BEST freshest yummy sushi we have found in all my travels.. Large succulent morsels freshly made through the day.. No pre packed meals YOU choose what YOU want . and if they have ran out they will quickly make it for you.. i recommend getting in in the morning if you want to select from the trays because they sell very fast and the owners don't believe in slaving in the shop all day.. .. Off season they have even more variety for us lucky locals and travelers.. You can take away or out the back of the shop is a peacefull little courtyard garden to dine in.. They also have wines and beers so great for a group lunch date.. Yum

Very fresh sushi, really love the chicken and rice. Staff were more than obliging and friendly. Will definitely return again.
