Baxters Cafe

We got the beer battered fish (which was gurnard) & chips with salad & special tartare sauce. The fish was delicious & the chips were really good, too. I was able to book ahead & our order was served right on request time. Very happy.

Very good service, most pleasant ambiance, either indoor or out, and our lunch was quite good. Highly recommend a good place and great value.

They have a decent selection of cabinet food, as well as a sit-down menu, but they're one of the more expensive cafes in Whakatane, and when there's so many better ones around, it's hard to justify their prices.

standard fare you select the food and pay as you go you can sit inside or nice outside on the street place to sit also

Expensive cafe food, and while their servers are lovely, I made the decision to never go back again after some serious rudeness from their manager.
