Baxters Cafe

Very good service, most pleasant ambiance, either indoor or out, and our lunch was quite good. Highly recommend a good place and great value.

We got the beer battered fish (which was gurnard) & chips with salad & special tartare sauce. The fish was delicious & the chips were really good, too. I was able to book ahead & our order was served right on request time. Very happy.

Really large cafe, great seating, indoors and out with a great street view. A town icon. Huge varied cabinet selection and large cooked to order menu. Gluten free options too. Yummy creamy mushrooms!

They have a decent selection of cabinet food, as well as a sit-down menu, but they're one of the more expensive cafes in Whakatane, and when there's so many better ones around, it's hard to justify their prices.
