      Good mix of Kiwiana and exhibits from all around the world. Best of all it's free, free, free (don't forget to throw some loose change on the way out - it's what keeps our national museum afloat).

      This museum is amazing, i spent 3 hours walking around and could of spent the whole day! There was lots of interactive displays. And they have a whole walkway area outside to explore. The Gallipoli display is worth checking out while it is still there and bring a tissue because the stories are amazing.

      We always take our guests to Te Papa, and they LOVE it. You can seriously spend hours at this museum and learn SO MUCH about New Zealand from Earthquakes to Maori to The war. Plus, they have a great gift shop with classy and interesting books and jewelry. My kids love this place and they have a great kids area for learning and classes. Great for tourists and locals.

      Self-confessed museum and gallery phobe, Te Papa is just great though, interactive, visually interesting, amazing building too. Proud of this place.
