Ortega - Fish Shack & Bar

Expensive but worth it for a special date night or celebrations!

We went to Ortega on a Tuesday night. We had a 6pm booking which we were unfortunately not able to make, so I called and hope we would be able to reschedule, and they managed to get us into a small table at 8pm. The Tarakihi was excellent, as were the duck fat potatoes. With two mains, one side, one entree and a bottle of wine , the bill came to $175 which is pretty pricey. The staff did not communicate so well, I asked for still water and my partner sparkling, and I was topped up with sparkling. We were also asked if we would like to order more drinks, although we had a bottle open at the bar. Over all a good experience, but not sure I would go back with the price point.

An absolutely incredible restaurant, amazing atmosphere, incredible staff, awesome drinks and most importantly, stunning food. Craig behind the bar is the ultimate host with great interpersonal skills and amazing product knowledge. Top notch.

Excellent lunch yesterday. Delicious oysters & moki. The staff were incredible with outstanding service. Highly recommend and worth a revisit soon.

The main course here was excellent. The entrees disappointed us. Still a thumbs up for this place.
