The Rongotai electorate comprises the eastern communities of Wellington city including Roseneath, Hataitai, Kilbirnie, Rongotai, and the Miramar Peninsula. The western boundary runs south from the Basin Reserve along Adelaide Rd through Newtown, Vogeltown and Berhampore, and then out to the south coast suburbs of Owhiro Bay, Island Bay, Houghton Bay, and Lyall Bay. The electorate also includes Chatham Island and Pitt Island.
