Countdown in Wellington central is a small supermarket, well suited to picking up a small snack or for visitors staying at the nearby hotels (I found it to be a short walk from the Ibis Hotel).
I would recommend for an interim shop, but not for a large/family shop.

Brilliant little supermarket ideal for picking up something for lunch, dinner or a bottle of wine.
Great location for getting food or drink on the way home or for lunch. We found the bakery really large and stocked with fresh offerings for lunch.
Their meat and fish section has a good range and there are lots of staff and self-scan aisles for easy checkout.

This is a small countdown but super convenient location, I stay at the intercontinental for work and it’s only about 2 min walk away. The store seems well organised, the staff are friendly & they have a huge amount of self check outs!

It's not a huge store, but it's equipped with all of the essentials, and despite the large volume of customers that traipse through here each day, the staff always seems helpful and friendly.
