Backbencher Pub & Cafe

This place felt like a college bar and had a delightful ambience and setting. My wife and I were quite pleased with the home fries, risotto and the refreshing beer, which proved to be a great respite after our long walk in the afternoon sun. A number of football fans had gathered here for the screening of a local league game, which made the atmosphere extremely lively and very English-like.

I have found the food here to be a bit hit or miss because the do things like make their burgers with part venison meat which I don't like. Had the steak here with 2 others (we all got the same thing) a few weeks ago and it was amazing. We wil try to get back in to have it again before Christmas. The puppets on the wall are quite interesting but the tables are a bit squashed in.

A great pub with nice,classic food and good vibes.

My wife has been here frequently overthe past decade and she finally took me for lunch last week. I triedthe calamari with spicy sauce and it was really good. Not at all over cooked. The price was definitely on the high end for lunch out but the experience was pretty unique with all the puppets around.

Excellent cafe with a great range of delicious meals. I love their Moccachinos. Friendly staff.
