Bistro Gentil

I enjoyed one of the best steaks I have eaten and this year we went for my partners birthday. Upon arrival we were presented with complimentary sparking rose to celebrate. The service was exemplary all night. The self serve wine bar allows for lots of experimentation but the wait staff are on hand to offer advice. The entire meal was outstanding and the boisterous rendition of "happy birthday" rounded the night off. Perfect night!

I always visit bistro gentil whenever i am down in wanaka. The food is always consistently good but there has def been some changes in management over the last year or 2. Front staff is okay but doesnt feel as friendly as they used to be nor have knowledge of the food being served. Having found plastic from bubble wrap used as a mould for the chocolate i told the waiter but he said it was just from the chocolate being frozen and looked like that and that they did not use bubble wrap. Later the chef said it was plastic from bubble wrap.

Every thing is not perfect but AWESOME!!!!! Thanks chefs for delicious meals and quality of products & thanks waitress for the perfect service ! Keep this way we'll be back soon

It is sometimes said that there is no such thing as Perfection! Well there is and it’s the food at Bistrol Gentil! A fabulous experience! as always!
