Big Fig

I visited this place when I was doing a trip to South Island. The food here was so good, healthy options and totally worth the prices. They do have variety of options to choose from and being a vegetarian I must say the salads are very nice and crunchy.

This cafe was advertised as Mediterranean food, I would say it is however has a major European twist. Nonetheless the food is nice and an easy quick bite to grab. Portions are generous considering the small size of the bowls. Staff were really friendly!

We’re really excited to eat here but left very disappointed. We had the $18 size plate and a $10 size plate, you get to choose from the buffet style cabinet what dishes you want to eat and the staff put it on the plate for you. The biggest disappointment was how very little food they actually put on your plate. There was hardly anymore food put on our $18 plate compared to our $10 plate. The beef cheek wasn’t very flavoursome, food looked good but tasted very average. Service was fine they just need to increase the quantities they put on the plates.

We loved the big fig! Lovely staff, great portion size meals and beautiful food. We all left feeling super satisfied and can't wait to head back!

Excellent service, great coffee and beautiful gozlemes are reasons why we’ll come back for another visit! We had Big Fig recommended to us and we’re very glad we tried it. Lots of options, the indoor and outdoor areas are lovely ~ all in all a great experience.
