What Makes Us Different
Switchboard Upgrades & Rewires A switchboard upgrade is an upgrade from the existing ceramic re-wire fuses or any older protection devices to a flush-mount board including new circuit breakers, RCD protection and a clean Earth up to current AS/NZS 3000:2000 Standards. A Re-wire is advised if you are living in a pre 1960s home as chances are you are going about daily life blissfully unaware that the wiring up in the roof and inside the wall cavities are deteriated Rubber or vinyl cable. A ticking time bomb for an electrical fire. A re-wire replaces all of this cabling with new TPS cabling up to current AS/NZS 3000:2000 Standards Older homes frequently suffer from the following problems: May not have sufficient power available to handle the increased demand of today¿s appliances May repetitively trip the existing fuses when load is put on. Maybe unsafe and a fire risk for you and your children. Or you may just want the benefit of cheaper insurance premiums. Therefore, an upgrade is required. The older protection devices such as the ceramic fuses are there only to protect the wiring, not you or your children. Most home owners think that when something goes wrong in the electrical system ¿The fuse blows¿ and think immediately they have adequate protection from electrocution, THIS IS NOT THE CASE. A Residual Current Protective Device is required to monitor the circuits individually for leakage current such as a toy getting jammed into the socket or water splashed inside and isolate the power before any personal damage can be done. Insurance companies also tend to give rebates for people that own newly re-wired houses and boards for the sole fact that they recognize that this is beneficial to both parties. A fuse that repetitively trips for example when certain lights are turned on or when certain appliances are turned on signals a fault in the electrical system, the idea is not to keep trying to see whether it goes away but to get it repaired so that safety is mai
