Fish & chips were nice , young girls serving & in kitchen made you feel like you were putting them out to serve you & you have to pay extra for a smile ? Ordered hot dog with sauce ( got no sauce )

& something seriously wrong in New Zealand when go to a seaside fish & chip shop & they have no oysters frozen breadcrumbed scallops & you cant get common beautiful NZ fish like gurnard or tarakihi only a generic Cod bottom dweler or pay the dearest ever i have paid for peice of New Zealand snapper

Really sad & a bit dissapionting

Absolutely improved since new owners took over. Note their Chips scoop is old school generous - 2 scoops can feed 6-8 adults. Highly recommended and now as good as if not better then Tairua Takeaways

We are in Pauanui this weekend to relax for my 59th birthday. We stopped by Pauanui Takeaways without any particular expectations and were treated to the best fish fish and chips of my entire life: super succulent snapper and crisp golden chips. We topped off the meal with their ice creams of the most amazing flavours. Smiling service and bench seats with umbrella for us yo eat at outside. ALL RECOMMENDED WITHOUT HESITATION - well done guys and thankyou!

Good feed of fish and chips freindly staff . Really busy when we were here but wait times were minimal
