Wilson Rd Fish Shop

Ordered a Shrimp Fried Rice and to start with it had almost no seasoning/salt (I’m not big on salt normally). This was still OK but a few spoonfuls and I noticed that almost all the shrimp were not deveined so I dug in to check more and turned out about 7 of the 8/9 shrimp I checked were that way. It grossed me out and went back to show it to them. The lady (They were a man, a girl and a lady) shrugged and said – Sorry not our problem, this is how the Shrimp come…raised her eyebrows….turned her face away and walked off before I could say anything else. I had the deep fried mars bar which was fine but the attitude put me off more than anything!

Good food, cheap prices and really fast. Have gone there once a week for 7+ years and have nearly had the whole menu with no problems.

Been coming here for years now. Never had an issue with this place at all. Cispy fries and fresh fish. Decent prices too

really good fish and chips in waihi, chips are always cooked well and salted, and the fish is fresh and decent portions. no complaints here
