Kawhia Camping Grounds

Rude owners, unclean accommodation and an unprofessional operation. Highly recommend checking out other accommodation in the area.

During our visit the owner of the park was drunk, he also got the leaving date wrong. Regarding the date he stormed in 2 days before we were meant to leave and insisted on payment in cash and that the room is cleaned, he then backed down when he realized he made a mistake and started a rant about his wife leaving him. In the hundreds of accommodations i have stayed at globally this was amongst the strangest behaviors I have seen from an owner.

The rooms were also dirty, the pull out bedding had not been cleaned in months (cobwebs/dust all over them).
