Stafford Personnel

We found work straight away with Stafford and we always got paid on time. We did have a few cancelled shifts here and there with late notice but I suppose this is part of the process.

Sadly Stafford’s business is solely built on money and as a (most likely temp) employee, probably earning minimum wage, you will often be treated poorly. This includes being given last minute shifts, sometimes a nightshift with only 1-2 hours notice, arriving to work with no-one expecting you (the businesses and Stafford seem to have very poor communication), being sent home early because there is no work, having shifts cancelled at the very last minute (often many days a week for outdoor jobs like apple picking because of the weather), having your paid conditions changed from one week to the next (like having your lunch break payment suddenly stopped from one week to the next and not being notified at all; to only find out when your payslip arrives - quite unbelievable - and VERY unprofessional. When queried, Stafford’s “no-care, no-responsibility” attitude was appalling.) With stat days expect to fight black & blue to get payment for them, on one stat day I had three individual staff members (the pay clerk, a new team member and a senior team member) all tell me I wasn’t entitled to stat holiday pay and all three gave three completely different reasons why (!!), until I proved in writing that they had said it would be paid. They begrudgingly gave it in the end but no apology was given. Sadly this ‘stat pay’ story was a reoccurring theme, especially for uni students. If you are looking for a job with Stafford, then go in with your eyes VERY wide open.
