Recently had some fish and chips and felt alright. Not the best but not worst. The staff are ok to deal with.

admittedly, it has been a while since we were out there, but that is because the last time we were out there, the food was sub par and that was after waiting what seemed an excessive amount of time.

The Burger i ordered was delivered, with half the top bun missing (it had been burnt and then scraped away, leaving barley enough bun to hold the burger together.

Haven't been back since. It used to be a great place, the best spot to get Kumara chips with all the toppings!

Very average, paid $9 for a deluxe stuffed spud, spud wasn't even cooked. Not recommended at all. I usually use Thommys takeaways. Way better.

The Funky Fish provides scrumptious food and drink for those that like to play and party hard on the West Coast of Northland's Kaipara region. Nestled in the scenic beach town of Baylys Beach, those lucky enough to visit in the hottest season are able to enjoy the beach, then wine and dine and when timed right, can be serenaded by some of the best and yet to be discovered entertainers Aotearoa has to offer. For friendly service and nosh that tickles the taste buds and senses, head to the Funky fish cafe.
I was drawn back a second time to enjoy another serving of the rack of lamb, it did not dissapoint. To top it off "The Nukes" were playing an impromptu gig that night. I found a new appreciation for the beautiful music a ukelele band could produce and how an intimate restaurant could fill with the aroma of yummy food, happy people, and music that rocked locals and those lucky enough to stumble upon this West Coast treasure. "Magic!"
