Gumdiggers Buried Kauri Forest

This is no ordinary tourist attraction. As well as displaying New Zealand's gumdigging history, you can see buried kauri trees, which are laying at the bottom of huge pits. What cataclysmic even managed to flatten a kauri forest is anyone's guess, but it's a must-see for kiwis and tourists alike. Highly recommended!
