Seaspray Takeaways

We all felt a bit weird after eating here, everything seemed very oily and not probably as cooked as it should be. Won't be going back as it was very expensive.

Normally great, don't know what happened this time. We had takeaways from here last night. The scallops were disgusting. Not the normal juicy plump NZ ones you would expect. The white of the scallop was smaller than a five cent piece, were brown and rubbery. I wouldn't be surprised if they were imported and prefrozen. Wouldn't pay 10 cents each for them, let alone $2.40 each. Beer batter chips (which are normally the highlight of the meal) tasted old. Burgers were nice and fish was ok.

Normally the place is crowded, this time there was only one person waiting. I am wondering if there has been a change of ownership.

Whatever you do, don't order the spicy prawns. They are $5.50 for 6 tiny pieces - each not much bigger than a peice of popcorn chicken. Quite a rip off.

Yummy chicken burgers and beer battered chips! And not too far from the beach. Perfect!

We stopped in at Seaspray Takeaways over New Years, and despite being busy their service was on point, the food was amazing and quick as well, I expected the wait to be much longer. We got 4 different burgers (including the Man burger) as well as a few scoops of chips and a couple of the Popcorn Shrimp and it was under $50 (With 5 side sauces!)
We will definitely be back!!
