Mihi Cafe & Food Store

Friendly staff and tasty food, perfect stop for a decent coffee when road tripping.

Popped by this cafe for a bite on our way from Wai O Tapu towards Huka Falls. Cafe even has a small playground for kids next to it. Friendly cafe owner serves great pies and sandwiches. My son loved the salmon sandwich while I gobbled down their pulled pork pies. As a Singaporean, I must say that their Singapore curry chicken rice was nowhere close to how this should be made in Singapore. That was the only blip during our Mihi cafe stopover.

Best pulled pork toasties! Good stop off for the kids with great thick shakes and lovely homemade pies.

We ended up stopping here on our road trip to Rotorua for a quick bite to eat and we were so lucky to choose this cafe. The gentleman here by the name of Stuart was absolutely pleasant and polite. He even gave us some of his homemade honey after seeing my mom bring her own jar and gave us some great advice on where to stop by to buy some good quality honey nearby. The food was great and this cafe is a perfect place to stop by for a short break and to get some brochures and pamphlets on the town you’re headed.
