      I booked an expensive room here last year as a treat for myself while attending some training in Palmerston North, and was really looking forward to my stay - only to arrive and be told "you know you're not in one of the new, renovated rooms, right? You'll have to pay extra to stay in one of those." After an 8 hour commute, I was too tired to argue/complain, but couldn't believe when I was lead up the stairs to a room with a cracked mirror, hole-y curtains, and dirty carpet. A totally disappointing experience - never again.
