Very impressed with this pharmacy. Whole in holiday, I forgot to bring a medicinal cream that I really needed. They didn't have it in stock, so they ordered it in for me & it was the within 24 hours. It can be quite expensive as they have the monopoly where they are positioned, but staff are very friendly & helpful. Highly recommended.

I do not recommend this place. I visited Bay of Islands from USA on a vacation this month. I found the clerks at this store to be very pushy, and the prices to be very high. But most of all, the pharmacist there was the only rude person I really encountered in my 12 days of vacation in this wonderful country. He especially is not fond of Americans. So visit the other shops for all your needs, there is a great dollar store down the street, but avoid this store!!

We come from London, where I work in the retail/service industry there.
I have never felt so unwelcome in a store in my life. The staff were unfriendly, rude and made no effort to help us locate what we were after (as we blatantly were looking around various shelves) and I would urge you to try to use the Four square, Countdown or any other town pharmacy option that you have available before shopping here. I realise they have a pretty captive market, unfortunately.
To top it off, the four products we ended up buying were REALLY expensive. I am not sure if this is NZ for these items in general, or it is another shortcoming for this retail outlet.

Most unfriendly owner ever. Totally disrespectful and bluntly rude and arrogant. I am a Paihia local and I will rather drive 50km to the next town to avoid him. He has some serious issues with himself and tries to deliberately talk down to other men in front of his female (only) staff to increase his (non existing) self esteem. Do yourself a favour and do not support this guy. He has a monopoly on the down (being the only pharmacy) so he thinks he is all powerful. I hope this message can find him and all his clients somehow. Thanks
