Otorohanga Kiwi House & Native Bird Park

Aw some attraction to take the family and actually not to badly priced. Awesome amount to see and the kids were over the moon to actually see the kiwis up close. Loads of parking and the staff are lovely.

This was the first time i have visited and although it was lovely to visit and meet the native birdlife and other animals, i think the surroundings & buildings need a massive upgrade. Even the reception area smells musty. Friendly team though.

You do need to come at feeding time so find out when this is otherwise it is a disappointing visit. There are a number of other birds but the aviary walkways need a bit of a spruce up. The place as a whole looks worn and dated and needs to have an upgrade to compete with other tourist venues.

So many Beautiful native birds of New Zealand and spectacular views. Great place to go with the family. Really enjoyed it and was very exciting to see the kiwis.

What a fabulous place, we especially enjoyed watching the Kea and Kaka at feeding time. Highly recommend.
